If you’re involved in the care or education of young people, it’s more than likely you will
have come into contact with head lice before.
While anyone of any age can get head lice, they are most common among primary school children.
This site will provide you and your colleagues with a wealth of creative and informative resources
to help you address the problem of head lice in your school, head on.
Teachers should not have to deal with head lice alone though! Tackling head lice is a community
responsibility involving teachers, parents and pupils in an integrated programme of education,
awareness and prevention. The Facts of Lice project aims to de-mystify and de-stigmatise the
condition by creating an open dialogue both in school and at home.
The free downloadable resources on this site will provide support for teachers, educational
content to engage pupils, and advice for parents to ensure their on-going role in the prevention
process. There are a range of educational materials to download such as teachers notes, lesson plans,
letter templates and handy parents leaflets.
We hope you find them helpful!
